Dr Binns was a news reporter for ten years and is now a writer, researcher and journalism lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire.

Her PhD was on solutions to difficult behaviour on social media and other online communities. She contributed to the Government report on intimidation of parliamentary candidates. She regularly comments on social media issues on Radio Five Live, Radio Lancashire and other stations.

She has just published a biography of the science fiction author John Wyndham, using the treasure trove of love letters, tapes and unpublished stories at the University of Liverpool.

She has also written about local history, in the book “Valley of a Hundred Chapels”, also on Amazon. She has published papers and chapters on interwar feminism and social history.

Dr Binns lives in Yorkshire with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she likes hanging upside down with the lovely ladies at Unique Dance and Fitness, Burnley.
